Accounting technician (NOC 12200)
This position demands extensive collaboration within the finance and Admin teams as well as effective communication with the Property Operations group. The accounting Technician will report to The Property Accountant who is responsible for day-to-day operational accounting functions and handle full cycle accounting for multiple condominium corporations.
Location: Unit 515 – 2347 Kennedy Rd, Toronto, Ontario, M1T3T8
Salary: 25.00 hourly
Terms of employment: Permanent employment, Full time: 30 to 40 hours per Week
Employment conditions: Candidate must be flexible to work any assign shift as the work demands including morning, day, Evening, and Weekends.
Start date: Starts as soon as possible
Education: Completion of a college program in accounting, bookkeeping or a related field or completion of two years (first level) of a recognized professional accounting program (e.g., Chartered Accounting, Certified General Accounting) or courses in accounting or bookkeeping combined with equivalent experience.
Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience as a financial or accounting clerk are required.
Job requirements and Responsibilities:
Must have a sound knowledge of accounting principles.
Keep financial records and establish, maintain and balance various accounts using manual and computerized bookkeeping systems.
Post journal entries including accruals and adjustments.
Reconcile bank accounts of all Condominium portfolio.
Prepare trial balance of books and maintain general ledgers and financial statements.
Calculate and prepare cheques for payrolls and for utility, tax and other bills.
Complete and submit tax remittance forms, and other government documents for the business and its employees.
Prepare tax returns and perform other bookkeeping duties.
Prepare monthly and quarterly financial packages for the clients including Statement of Operations Fund, Statement of Reserve Fund, Statement of Financial position, Schedules, Balance sheet Analysis, statistical and other supporting reports.
Calculate fixed assets and depreciation.
Liaises with other departments to resolve accounting queries.
Send invoices and statements to clients.
Any other duties as assigned.
