Full Time Nursing Attendant / Nurse Aid Full Time

Richmond Lodge Retirement Centre, of Richmond (Ottawa area), ON, is seeking a full-time skilled, diligent and compassionate Nurse Aid / Nursing Attendant for shift work (30hrs/week, day, evening, night, weekends, $21/hr). Minimum 1 year experience working with elderly patients with health conditions and dispensing medication, First Aid & CPR, able to work with minimal supervision, be attentive and patient, detail-oriented, excellent character references, criminal record check. English proficiency required. High school education minimum.

A successful candidate, dedicated to serving seniors with positive attitude, will attend to mobility-challenged residents, supply and empty bed pans; assist in bathing, dressing and grooming patients; serve meal trays, feed / assist in feeding; lift, turn, and position patients; supervise residents’ exercise routines, set up, provide and accompany residents to recreational activities, transport them by wheelchair, make beds and maintain rooms and perform other duties related to patient care and comfort.

He / she will take blood pressure, temperature and pulse; record fluid intake and output; monitor health condition and document performed health care; administer first aid in emergency situations; administer suppositories and enemas, dispense medication and perform other procedures as directed by nurses. May maintain supplies inventory and assist with cleaning and sterilizing equipment.
