Naru Japanese restaurant (NS) Ltd. is looking for a Cook, Ethnic Foods (permanent / full time position).

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

–      Oversee the kitchen operations

–      Season and cook food according to recipes or personal judgment and experience

–      Supervise and coordinate work activities and schedules of kitchen staff engaged in food preparation

–      Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods

–      Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerance

–      May plan menus and determine food portions

–      Create high quality sushi, sashimi, and rolls

–      Maintain inventory and records of food ingredients, supplies and equipment

–      Estimate expected food consumption and requirement

–      Check the quantity and quality of received products

–      Inspect kitchen and food service areas

–      Maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas

–      Train kitchen staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food

Cuisine specialties

–      Japanese cuisine

Academic, Training and Experience Qualifications

–      Secondary school graduation certificate is required

–      1 year of previous experience in commercial cooking industry is required

Wage

–      Salary: $14.50 per hour for 40 hours a week at 52 weeks a year

–      Overtime (after 48 hours/week) $21.75 per hour
