Job Summary:

Torafuku Modern Asian Eatery Inc. is seeking a full-time cook to join our team. As a Japanese fusion restaurant, we are looking for someone who is passionate about Asian cuisine and has experience cooking with a range of ingredients and techniques. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes, ensuring that they meet our high standards for taste, presentation, and quality.

Job Duties:

• Prepare and cook dishes in accordance with our recipes, plating guidelines, and quality standards.
• Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure that all dishes are prepared in a timely manner and to the required specifications.
• Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines, ensuring that all equipment and surfaces are clean and sanitized.
• Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed to ensure that we have the necessary ingredients on hand to prepare dishes.
• Assist with menu planning and development, contributing ideas for new dishes and improvements to existing ones.
• Ensure that all dishes are presented in an attractive and appetizing manner, paying attention to detail and aesthetics.
• Train and supervise junior kitchen staff and helpers, providing guidance and support as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the restaurant manager.

Job Requirements:

• Completion of secondary school education is required.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience working as a cook in a commercial kitchen.
• Experience working in a Japanese fusion or Asian restaurant is preferred.
• Knowledge of Japanese and Asian cuisine, ingredients, and cooking techniques is an asset.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
