Early Childhood Educator Assistant (ECEA) Full Time

Responsibilities:

• Work with children who may or may not have special needs between the ages of 12 months to 5 years.
• Assist Early Childhood Educators (ECEs) to plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials along with Willowbrae’s Philosophy.
• Provide daily care for children on a split-shift basis.
• Follow the designated lesson plans when interacting with children.
• Implement and make necessary adjustments to the daily schedule to meet the developmental needs of the children in the classroom.
• Share in the children’s experiences during the day by being responsive and interested.
• Abide by all policies and procedures set forth by Willowbrae Academy.
• Assist ECEs to organize and replenish classroom materials.
• Supervise each child in the room at all times, ensuring safety and awareness.
• Prepare and serve meals and snacks to children.
• Maintain the work environment in a clean and organized manner. It is crucial to report to the ECE or supervisor if there are any safety concerns in the classroom or outside.
• Maintain daily records of children’s attendance, injuries, and activities, as well as document in the communication log throughout the morning and afternoon program.

Requirements:

• BC Early Childhood Education Assistant Certificate
• First Aid and infant CPR certificate
• Clear Criminal record check

Soft skills requirements:

• Enthusiastic about taking care of children, Positive energy, and a team player
• Good communication skills both verbal and written to communicate with the parents
• Capable of independent problem-solving while following the guidelines of the Willowbrae Academy
• Reliable and punctual to deliver on all daily tasks and capable of good time management
• Good team player and open to ideas/suggestions

Salary and Additional pay:

• Salary: $17.00-$20.00 per hour
• Pay increases and promotions based on performance and seniority level

Schedule:

• 8-hour shift, Monday to Friday

Supplemental pay types:

• Overtime pays

Experience:

• Early childhood education: 1 year (preferred)

License/Certification:

• BC ECEA License (required)
