Overview
Languages: English
Education: College/CEGEP. Completion of a college or other program related to hospitality or food and beverage service management is usually required.
Experience: 5 years or more in the food service industry. Several years of experience in the food service sector, including supervisory experience, are required.
Supervision: Staff in various areas of responsibility
Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Tight deadlines, Repetitive tasks, Attention to detail, Standing for extended periods

Tasks
- Develop budget to determine cost of food, ingredients, alcohol, kitchen and cleaning supplies
- Evaluate daily operations
- Monitor revenues to determine labour cost
- Monitor staff performance
- Plan and organize daily operations
- Set staff work schedules
- Supervise staff
- Determine type of services to be offered and implement operational procedures
- Balance cash and complete balance sheets, cash reports and related forms
- Organize and maintain inventory
- Ensure health and safety regulations are followed
- Negotiate with clients for catering or use of facilities
- Participate in marketing plans and implementation
- Address customers' complaints or concerns
- Provide customer service
- Manage events
