Job title: IT Business Analyst (NOC 21221)
Wage: $45 per hour.
Job responsibilities:
- Lead the facilitation of workshops, interviews, and meetings with stakeholders to elicit, analyze, and document functional and non-functional requirements.
- Translate business needs into clear and actionable system requirements (BRDs, FRDs, user stories, use cases) for developing technical solutions.
- Conduct gap analyses and feasibility' studies to evaluate current processes and identify areas for improvement.
- Analyze existing business processes using Lean, Six Sigma, or other methodologies to identify inefficiencies and recommend optimized solutions.
- Estimate project efforts and delivery timelines adhering to the project scope & budget.
- Work with project managers and scrum teams to ensure requirements are correctly translated into technical specifications.
- Participate in developing proof-of-concepts and demonstrate the product capabilities while highlighting the risks and dependencies.
- Serve as a liaison between business units, scrum teams and external vendors for mutual understanding of project objectives.
- Present findings, recommendations, and IT solution options to business leaders and stakeholders.
- Design and implement IT business solutions and workflows in alignment with industry best practices and organizational goals.
- Work on the user stories to develop most viable products and enhance the existing computer programs in the support model.
- Maintain detailed documentation and artifacts throughout the project life cycle.
- Support testing activities including UAT (User Acceptance Testing) by developing test scenarios, reviewing test cases, and validating test results.
- Support organizational change by planning release activities, creating communication plans, developing training materials, and user guides to facilitate adoption of new processes and systems.
- Use data modeling and analytics tools to evaluate business performance and identify trends, KPIs, patterns, and insights that help with decision making.
- Provide post-implementation support and conduct lessons learned reviews to capture insights for continuous improvement.
Job requirements:
- Degree or diploma in Business, IT, or related field
- 3–5 years business analysis experience, preferably in IT
- Skilled in gathering and documenting requirements (BRDs, user stories)
- Knowledge of process improvement (Lean, Six Sigma)
- Experience with data analysis and Business Intelligence tool.
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Experience working with developers, QA, and supporting UAT
- Comfortable using tools like Zoom, MS Teams, Jira, and Confluence
- Able to work independently in a hybrid environment
