Job title: Mechanic Helper (NOC 75119)
Wage: $22.00 per hour
Job Duties:
- Assist diesel mechanics with tasks such as engine rebuilds, transmission repairs, brake servicing, and wiring
- Clean and prepare parts for diesel engines and other mechanical systems
- Organize and maintain tools, equipment, and shop areas
- Move tools, parts, and supplies to support mechanic tasks
- Pressure wash vehicles, equipment, and parts as required
- Pick up and deliver parts and supplies
- Maintain yard and shop organization, ensuring walkways and exits are clear
- Follow all shop safety procedures and wear required PPE
- Perform general labour tasks inside and outside the shop
- Lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly
- Work as part of a team, follow instructions, and show willingness to learn new tasks
- Pay attention to detail when assisting with diesel engine and heavy equipment repairs
Job Requirements:
- Completion of secondary school preferred
- Previous experience in a repair shop, diesel, or heavy equipment environment is an asset
- Ability to lift and carry heavy parts and equipment (up to 50 lbs)
- Ability to follow safety standards and work in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to learn and assist skilled tradespersons
- Valid driver’s license is an asset
