Special Needs Caregiver
We are seeking a compassionate Caregiver to support our 15 year old child with Autism at our home in Oshawa, Ontario. This position involves providing meaningful companionship, engaging in fun activities and collaborating with the care team to support developmental goals. The ideal candidate is patient, reliable and genuinely passionate about making a positive impact.
Hours of work:
- 35 to 40 hours a week
Compensation:
- 20.50 per hour
Responsibilities:
- Provide one – on – one support to 15 year old with Autism
- Foster a fun, safe and engaging environment through games, crafts and outdoor activities
- Assist with bathing and other aspects of personal hygiene
- Assist in regular exercise, like walking
- Offer companionship and emotional support to both mother and child
- Implement strategies to manage behavioral challenges in a calm and supportive manner
- Prepare and serve nutritious meal
Qualifications:
- At least 7 months to less than 1 year of experience or related training
- Prior experience working with children with Autism or in a similar caregiving role is as asset
- Reliable, punctual and able to work independently
