Job title: Public works maintenance equipment operator (NOC code: 74205)
Pay rate: $27.00 per hour
Work location: 405 Brooks Avenue, Denzil, SK, S0L 0S0.
Main Duties:
- Collect and dump garbage and other waste at approved sites.
- Use equipment to clean streets and public areas.
- Plow snow and spread sand or salt on roads in winter.
- Trim or remove trees and brush along roads and near power lines when needed.
- Check, clean, refuel, and ensure all vehicles and equipment receive regular maintenance and oil changes.
- Keep campground and park areas clean and safe, including bathrooms, barbeques, and picnic spots.
- Inspect and maintain playground equipment to ensure it’s in good condition.
- Clean outside windows of the office building and spray for maple bugs when needed.
- Assist with other seasonal or maintenance tasks as needed.
Requirements:
- Completion of secondary school (high school).
- Valid Level 5 driver’s licence with a clean driving record.
- Ability to operate trucks, snowplows, and small equipment safely.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle and equipment maintenance.
- Ability to perform physical work outdoors in all seasons.
- Good time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to follow safety procedures and work independently or as part of a team.
- Previous experience in public works, maintenance, or landscaping is an asset but not required.
