Languages

Education
· Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience
· Minimum of 1 year of welding experience in commercial, industrial, or professional settings; experience with MIG welding and additional welding processes preferred
· Ability to read and understand technical drawings and measurements
· Knowledge of workplace safety procedures and equipment handling
· Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Responsibilities and Tasks
The successful candidate will perform duties consistent with NOC 72106 – Welders and related machine operators, including but not limited to:
· Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, welding specifications, manuals, and processes
· Perform welding using applicable processes such as GMAW (MIG), FCAW, and SMAW, depending on project needs
· Interpret welding process specifications and determine weldability of materials
· Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to weld ferrous and non-ferrous metals
· Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment
· Operate oxygen arc cutting (arc-air) equipment
· Fit, braze, torch-straighten, weld, solder, and cement metal components
· Operate brakes, shears, and other metal shaping, straightening, and bending machines
· Operate previously set-up welding, brazing, and soldering machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products
· Start up, shut down, adjust, and monitor robotic welding production line, where applicable
· Operate hoisting and lifting equipment safely
· Examine welds to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications
· Maintain and perform minor repairs on welding, brazing, and soldering equipment
· Follow workplace safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area

· Standing or sitting for extended periods
· Ability to work safely at heights or in elevated positions when required
· Ability to lift and handle materials and equipment safely, up to 25–30 kg (55–66 lbs) regularly, and up to 50 kg (110 lbs) occasionally with proper lifting techniques or mechanical assistance

Certification
· Trade certification in welding preferred
· Red Seal endorsement is an asset.
· Candidates without certification must have proven at least 1 year of on-the-job welding experience consistent with NOC 72106.
