· Location: 400 2nd Ave North Sudbury, Ontario, P3B4A4
· Salary: this is a unionized position. Wage is paid as per the union agreement. The hourly rate for this position will be, at the start $19.27 from Probation, end of probation to 1-year. From 1 year of Active service $19.75. From 2 years of Active service $20.25 hourly.
· Terms of employment: Permanent employment, Full time; [A full-time employee is an employee who is regularly scheduled sixty (60) hours or more bi-weekly. It is agreed and understood that the Residence is a twenty-four (24) hour per day, seven (7) days per week continuous operation and that services must be maintained. Normal hours of work for full-time employees are eight (8) hours per day and forty (40) hours per week, inclusive of the meal period].
· Candidates must be available to work any assigned shift including Early morning, Evening, Morning, Night, Day, Weekends and holidays. There shall be no shift premium, whether for afternoon shifts, night shifts, weekend shifts, or otherwise, in respect of employees who work their regularly scheduled shift or who exchange shifts with another employee and so work a shift other than their regularly scheduled shift. Where management requires an employee who is regularly scheduled to work morning or afternoon shifts, to instead work a night shift, that employee shall be paid a cover shift premium of fifteen ($0.15) cents per hour for time worked on that cover shift. This premium does not apply to employees who are rescheduled to regularly work night shifts.

· Benefits: after 3 months of employment employee will be eligible for extended benefits coverage including medical, dental, vision (50% cost covered by the employer). Protective clothing and/or other devices

On site: Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.
Languages: English
Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year
Experience: Experience an asset. Candidates with no experience but has successfully completed a Personal Support Worker program that meets requirements set by the Ministry of Colleges and Universities for an Ontario postsecondary institution or district school board will be considered.
Work setting: Nursing home/home for the aged
Responsibilities and Tasks
Provide personal care and companionship, emotional/social support for residents.
Bathe, dress/undress and groom residents.
Feed or assist in feeding.
Supply and empty bed pans and assist in toileting when necessary.
Accompany residents on outdoor recreational activities.
Provide physical assistance to residents as required such as weigh, lift, turn and position and observe or monitor residents with disabilities.
Take residents' blood pressure, temperature and pulse.
Serve meal trays and feed or provide feeding assistance.
Make beds and maintain residents' rooms.
Supervise patients' exercise routines.
Inform the manager when inventory or supplies are needed.
Transport patients in wheelchair or stretcher.
Answer call signals to determine patients' needs.
Collect specimens.
Administer first aid in emergency situations.
Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties.
Administer bedside and personal care.
Report any actual or potential hazards to the immediate supervisor.
Compliance with Health & Safety policies and procedures.
Perform any other duties related to personal care, and comfort.
**residents may be seniors or persons with disabilities living in the retirement facility.
Credentials:
Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certificate
First Aid Certificate
CPR Certificate
Nursing Aide Certificate OR Health Care Aide Certificate OR Personal Support Worker certificate.
Security and safety: Criminal record check, Immunization records, Vulnerable sector check. Tuberculosis test. Reference required
