Our team is looking for an experienced Cook who will work closely with the Windermere House team.

Job Duties:
Prepare and cook a variety of dishes following established recipes, portion sizes and quality standards
· Set up and stock workstations with all necessary ingredients and cooking equipment.
· Work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow and timely meal service.
Monitor food storage and rotation to minimize waste and ensure freshness.
Operate, maintain, and clean all kitchen equipment.
Assist with tracking food inventory and notify the kitchen supervisor of supply or equipment needs.
Assist in receiving and inspecting deliveries to verify the quality and quantity of ingredients
Plan, arrange, and oversee buffet service operations, ensuring appropriate food presentation, portion control, food safety compliance, and efficient service throughout operating hours.
Adhere to food safety and handling procedures and maintain a clean sanitized kitchen
Plan menus, determine appropriate portion sizes, estimate food and supply requirements and associated costs, and oversee inventory control and supply procurement.
Assist in the training of new staff as needed.
Certification:
· Safe Food Handling Certification is required.
Health & Safety
· Maintain knowledge of safety policies and procedures and performs assigned duties in a safe manner.
Language
· Ability to read and interpret documents as well as the ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
· Ability to communicate effectively with vendors and members of the organization.
Physical Requirements:
· Must be able to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50lbs.
· Finger dexterity is needed to access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer keyboard or calculator and to operate standard office equipment. As well to handle, control or feel objects tools or controls.
· Positions in this classification frequently bend, stoop, kneel, reach, push, and twist their bodies.
Computer
· Proficient in using MS Office applications, including MS Word, Excel, and Powerpoint; other computer skills necessary for communication and research.
