Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
Experience: 1 to 2 years.
Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots.

Handling heavy loads, Hand-eye co-ordination, Repetitive tasks, Bending, crouching, kneeling, Physically demanding, Standing for extended periods.

Additional Skills:
Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages, Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications, Erect and install scaffolding, falsework and other working platforms.
Weight Handling: Up to 45 kg (100 lbs).
Work Setting: Residential, Commercial,urban area, various locations
Plasterer Specific Skills:
Apply, level and smooth coats of plaster, Clean and prepare surfaces, Mix plaster ingredients to desired consistency.
Drywall Installer and Finisher Specific Skills:
Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements
Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints
Apply, level and smooth coats of plaster
Clean and prepare surfaces
Cure freshly plastered surfaces
Cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners
Fill joints, nail indentations, holes and cracks with joint compound using trowel and broad knife
Measure, cut, fit and install drywall sheets
Mix plaster ingredients to desired consistency
Position and secure sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists
Smooth out excess compound and allow coat to dry
Tape over joints using taping machine and embed tape in compound
Cut openings in lath for heating and ventilation piping, ducts and electrical outlets
Install vapour barriers and thermal and sound insulation
Prepare wall and ceiling layouts
Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages
Erect and install scaffolding, falsework and other working platforms
Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications
Fit and make adjustments for proper fit and comfort
Lather Specific Skills:
Cut openings in lath for heating and ventilation piping, ducts and electrical outlets, Install vapour barriers and thermal and sound insulation.
Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Occupational Health and Safety Certificate, Fall Arrest Protection Training Course.
