(Pastry Cook)
We are looking for experienced Pastry Cook for Elora Mill Hotel & Spa located at 77 W Mill St Elora, ON N0B 1S0, Canada.

JOB DUTIES:
Review daily dessert prep lists and coordinate pastry production in alignment with Elora Mill’s seasonal and à la carte menu offerings.
Prepare and assemble plated desserts including tarts, pavlova, tiramisu, and custard-based items, ensuring consistency in flavour, texture, and presentation.
Produce pastry components such as choux pastry, meringues, custards, and tart bases for use in composed restaurant desserts.
Execute dessert plating during service, applying precise portioning, garnishing, and finishing techniques in a fine-dining environment.
Coordinate with the culinary team to ensure timely dessert service and alignment with kitchen workflow during peak periods.
Monitor quality and freshness of pastry components, adjusting preparation levels to support service demands and minimize waste.
Maintain strict control over ingredient preparation, baking times, and temperature conditions to ensure consistency across all dessert items.
Maintain a clean and organized pastry station in compliance with food safety, sanitation, and kitchen standards.
Assist in developing and refining seasonal dessert offerings, including testing recipes and presentation techniques.
Store and handle ingredients and prepared items in accordance with food safety standards, ensuring proper labeling and rotation.
May perform other duties as reasonably assigned.
Prerequisites:
Education: Secondary (High) school graduation certificate or equivalent.
Experience & Skills: 3 years to less than 5 years of experience
Language: English
Hourly Rate: $18 to $23 per hour for 30 to 40 hours per week.
Starting Date: As soon as possible
Terms of Employment: Fulltime and permanent
