Position Title:* Long-Haul Truck Driver
**NOC:** 73300 – Transport Truck Drivers
Main Duties and Responsibilities
* Operate and drive tractor-trailers, long-combination vehicles, and straight-body trucks to transport goods and materials across local, provincial, and international routes.
* Plan trip logistics and obtain required documentation for the transportation of goods.
* Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of vehicle systems, equipment, and accessories, including tires, brakes, lights, refrigeration units, and safety equipment.
* Ensure cargo is properly secured in accordance with safety regulations and company procedures.
* Transport dangerous goods in compliance with applicable transportation and safety regulations.
* Obtain permits and other required documentation for cross-border and international shipments.
* Record cargo information, hours of service, fuel consumption, mileage, and trip details.
* Complete and maintain driver logbooks, inspection reports, bills of lading, and other transportation documents.
* Communicate with dispatch, customers, and other drivers using communication devices and onboard technology.
* Load and unload freight when required and verify cargo condition and shipment accuracy.
* Monitor vehicle performance and arrange for servicing and repairs as necessary.
* Perform minor roadside repairs and preventive maintenance.
* Provide professional customer service and address customer concerns in a timely manner.
* Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy when operational requirements demand.
* Comply with all federal, provincial, and company safety policies and transportation regulations.
Employment Requirements
* Secondary school completion.
* Valid Class 1/A driver's licence with Air Brake Endorsement.
* Minimum 7 months of commercial truck driving experience.
* Valid passport for cross-border transportation.
* Ability to obtain a criminal record check and security clearance.
* Knowledge of transportation documentation, including driver logs, bills of lading, inspection reports, maintenance records, and cross-border shipping documents.
