Specialist Chef - Event Catering
We are looking for a well experienced Specialist Chef - Event Catering for Cleese Catering located at 11 Carlaw Ave suite 14 Toronto, ON M4M 2R6, Canada.

Tasks and Responsibilities:
Plan and execute large-scale food preparation for catered events, including corporate functions, weddings, private parties, and outdoor BBQ services, ensuring timely delivery and consistency across high-volume service.
Design and customize event-specific menus incorporating diverse cuisines, including fusion, vegetarian, vegan, halal, and gluten-free options, based on client requirements and seasonal ingredient availability.
Prepare and cook complete meals and specialty dishes for on-site and off-site catering, including appetizers, mains, desserts, and live-station items, while maintaining high standards of presentation and portion control.
Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff and event-based culinary teams, assigning tasks, monitoring workflow, and ensuring adherence to food safety, hygiene, and quality standards during production and service.
Develop new recipes and menu concepts tailored to catering trends and client preferences, including plated dinners, buffet service, and canapé-style offerings.
Oversee food presentation and plating for events, including decorative displays for buffets and banquet service, ensuring visual appeal aligned with event themes and client expectations.
Train and instruct cooks and kitchen assistants in preparation techniques, batch cooking methods, and efficient execution for high-volume catering operations.
Manage inventory and requisition food supplies required for events, coordinating procurement, portion forecasting, and minimizing food waste in a dynamic catering environment.
Prerequisites:
Education: College/CEGEP or equivalent experience Restaurant, culinary and catering management/manager
Experience & Skills: 3 years to 5 years or more
Language: English
Hourly Rate: $36 per hour for 30 to 40 Hours per week
Starting Date: As soon as possible
Terms of Employment: Fulltime and permanent
