We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our dental office. This position requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Location: Thunder Bay, ON
Position: Full Time (up to 40hrs/week)
Pay: $26 / hour
Responsibilities
Assist dentists during examinations and procedures by providing necessary tools and materials.
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all equipment is ready for use.
Take patient medical histories and record vital signs as needed.
Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
Schedule appointments and manage patient records using dental software systems such as Dentrix or Epic.
Maintain inventory of dental supplies and ensure the cleanliness of the office environment.
Support orthodontic procedures and assist with pediatric dental care as required.
Skills
Proficient in medical terminology related to dentistry.
Experience in dental assisting, with knowledge of orthodontics and pediatrics being highly desirable.
Familiarity with dental software applications such as Dentrix or Epic.
Ability to utilize CAD technology for dental procedures is a plus.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
Excellent interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and team members.
Capability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism.
