Job Description: We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Project Estimator to join our team in Edmonton, Alberta. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, analyzing project requirements, and supporting project planning and execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction and related projects
- Analyze blueprints, drawings, and specifications
- Analyze structural components and demolition requirements for accurate estimation
- Prepare quantity take-offs and cost breakdowns
- Review and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and suppliers
- Maintain accurate records of estimates and project costs
- Assist in project planning, budgeting, and scheduling
- Travel to project sites for assessments and attend meetings as required
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or a related field
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of related experience
- Knowledge: Knowledgeable in demolition and structural work, including the ability to analyze structural elements
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:
- Willing to work night shifts and weekends
- Willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Willing to work outside Edmonton for project requirements
- Willing to drive within the city and outside Edmonton for project assessments and meetings
- Fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
- Attention to detail
