Welder-Assembler (Senior Steel Welder)
As a Senior Steel Welder, you perform all duties of an Welder-assembler, including GMAW welding, blueprint interpretation, weld inspection, and fabrication of aluminum trailer components.
This position represents the next level of progression between an Aluminum Welder and an Aluminum Welder-Fitter. The Senior Aluminum Welder is expected to perform complex and high-precision aluminum welds, interpret and adapt detailed blueprints, work effectively in multiple welding positions, and consistently achieve higher quality standards. This role also provides technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced welders while helping maintain production efficiency and product quality.
While the position demands advanced welding skills and a high level of craftsmanship, its primary focus remains welding excellence and typically requires 3+ years of steel welding experience in the trailer or heavy equipment industry. In addition he has some experience with Stainless, Iron and Aluminum.

PERMANENT-FULL TIME : 40 hours - 5:30 to 15:30 Monday to Thursday
SUPERVISON: This position has no supervisory responsibility.
DUTIES, EQUIPMENT, MACHINERY:
- Operates GMAW equipment to perform steel welds.
- Performs precise and complex welds requiring advanced skill and attention to detail.
- Reads and interprets complex blueprints and adapts techniques.
- Ensures welds meet higher quality standards with consistency.
- Uses advanced jigs, fixtures, and measuring tools. - Uses measuring tools to obtain repeatable results.
- Brings versatility across welding positions and techniques.
- Supports and mentors junior welders.
- Handles up to 30-50 lbs.
EDUCATION: High school diploma + additional welding training or certification (CWB or equivalent) or AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (preferred) with additional aluminum training.
· Completion of a three-year apprenticeship program, a combination of over three years of work experience in the trade and some college or industry courses in welding
EXPERIENCE: · 3+ years of steel welding experience in trailers or heavy machinery, with proven advanced skill.
· CWB certified or can become certified.

WORK CONDITIONS: Noisy, hazardous materials, physically demanding.
Physically demanding. Ability to bend, stoop, or stand and concentrate on detailed work for long periods of time.
CANDIDATES MUST HAVE:
Steel toe safety shoes
Welding helmet
Welding gloves
Basic hand tools (3 lbs sledge hammer / tape measure)
TRANSPORTATION: Own transportation required; no public transportation available.
