Job Duties
Prepare fields and soil for planting by removing stones, weeds and other debris and assisting with irrigation where required.
Assist with planting, fertilizing, cultivating and harvesting grain crops according to the farm’s production schedule.
Perform manual crop-handling and grain-harvesting support activities as directed by the farm supervisor.
Collect, weigh and prepare harvested grain for storage or transportation.
Load, unload and move seed, fertilizer, farm supplies and harvested grain.
Transfer harvested grain to designated grain bins, storage facilities or transportation areas.
Clean farm tools, work areas, and grain-handling and storage areas.
Assist with general farm maintenance and the routine cleaning and upkeep of farm tools and equipment.
Maintain basic daily records of harvested quantities and grain inventory.
Perform other related harvesting and general farm labour duties as required.
Employment Requirements
Education
High School Diploma
Experience
Previous farm or harvesting experience is an asset but is not required. Training will be provided.
Ability to follow instructions and work safely with minimal supervision.
Ability to perform physically demanding and repetitive tasks, including standing, bending, lifting, loading and unloading.
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and in dusty agricultural environments.
