Job details

·        Salary18.00 to 21.00 hourly (To be negotiated) / 30 to 44 hours per week

·        Terms of employment: Permanent employment, Full time

·        Employment conditions: Candidate must be flexible to work any assigned shift as the work demands including morning, day, Evening, Weekends, holidays.

·        Starts as soon as possible

Education: Is an asset.

Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of professional cooking experience.

On site:  Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.

Work setting: Restaurant

Responsibilities and Tasks

·        Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods.

·        Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances.

·        Learn and respect the exact brand recipes and portion standards of the restaurant.

·        Cook and assemble meats, sides, and grill items efficiently to meet ticket times.

·        Ensure consistent food quality, proper temperatures, and accurate presentation on every plate.

·        Train junior staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food

·        Apply strict workplace health, safety, and hygiene rules.

·        Keep the workstation and equipment constantly clean and organized before, during, and after service.

·        Follow proper operating instructions and handle routine maintenance for kitchen appliances.

·        Receive supplier orders and store products using proper food rotation (FIFO) methods.

·        Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment

·        Store ingredients safely according to their expected shelf-life.

·        Organize buffets and banquets.

·        Perform any other related duties as per business requirements.

Credentials: Food Safety Certificate (can be provided within two weeks of commencing employment)
