Building Services Worker – 2 Full-Time Permanent Positions

Select Maintenance Ontario is currently recruiting two Building Services Workers to assist with the cleaning, maintenance, and general upkeep of residential and commercial properties in Scarborough and Woodbridge, Ontario.
We are looking for dependable individuals who take pride in maintaining clean, safe, and properly functioning buildings. Candidates with experience in janitorial work, property maintenance, general repairs, or building upkeep are encouraged to apply.

Salary: $36.92 per hour
Hours: 30–40 hours per week
Employment: Permanent, Full-time
Schedule: Morning and Day shifts

Work Location: On-site at various property locations in Scarborough and Woodbridge, Ontario

What You Will Do
As a Building Services Worker, your daily responsibilities will include:
Cleaning and maintaining floors, hallways, stairways, and common building areas.
Sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and waxing different floor surfaces.
Using industrial vacuum cleaners and other cleaning equipment.
Cleaning windows, walls, ceilings, washrooms, and building fixtures.
Emptying garbage bins and handling general waste disposal.
Performing routine cleaning and disinfecting duties.
Carrying out minor repairs to building fixtures, appliances, and equipment.
Assisting with basic maintenance of heating, ventilation, cooling, plumbing, and electrical systems within your level of competence.
Identifying maintenance problems and arranging assistance from qualified tradespeople when necessary.
Performing minor painting, drywall repairs, and other general upkeep.
Inspecting buildings for safety and security concerns.
Coordinating with contractors for required repairs and maintenance.
Maintaining outdoor property areas, including lawns, gardens, and walkways.
Clearing snow and ice from entrances, sidewalks, and parking areas.
Moving furniture, equipment, and supplies when required.
Assisting with apartment and office showings and other property-related activities.
Providing support and direction to other maintenance workers when assigned.
What We Are Looking For
Education
Secondary school graduation certificate.
Work Experience
1 year to less than 2 years of relevant experience in building maintenance, property upkeep, cleaning, or a related field.
Language
English communication skills.
Additional Skills
Ability to use cleaning equipment and perform general maintenance tasks.
Basic knowledge of building upkeep and minor repairs.
Ability to follow instructions and complete assigned duties.
Good organizational and time-management skills.
Dependability, flexibility, initiative, and good judgment.
Work Environment
This is an on-site position involving physical and hands-on maintenance work.
Applicants should be comfortable with:
Handling heavy loads and maintenance equipment.
Repetitive cleaning and maintenance tasks.
Bending, crouching, and kneeling.
Working under pressure when required.
Performing duties at different property locations.
Working independently with minimal supervision.
