We are looking for well-experienced Cooks for “Habaneros Modern Taco Bar” located at 380 Pleasant St, Dartmouth, NS B2Y 3S5, Canada.

Tasks and Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook a variety of menu items, including tacos, burritos, quesadillas, bowls and other Mexican-inspired dishes according to established recipes and restaurant standards.
Prepare fresh ingredients, sauces, fillings, proteins and toppings required for daily food service while maintaining proper portion sizes and consistency.
Follow established recipes, cooking methods and presentation standards to ensure food quality, flavour and consistency during each shift.
Set up and maintain assigned cooking and food preparation stations, ensuring ingredients, utensils and equipment are ready for efficient service.
Monitor food supplies and ingredients, maintain appropriate stock levels and communicate shortages or replenishment requirements to supervisors.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen work areas, cooking equipment, utensils and food preparation surfaces in accordance with sanitation standards.
Follow proper food handling, storage, temperature control and sanitation procedures to maintain food quality and safety.
Coordinate with other kitchen and service staff to prepare customer orders accurately and efficiently, particularly during busy service periods.
Accommodate customer orders and requested menu customizations according to restaurant procedures and available ingredients.
Assist with receiving, checking and properly storing food products and kitchen supplies to maintain freshness and reduce food waste.
Monitor the quality of prepared food and ingredients and report any concerns regarding freshness, preparation or equipment to the supervisor.
Assist in training and guiding new kitchen staff in food preparation methods, kitchen procedures and safe food-handling practices when required.
Prerequisites:
Education: Secondary school education or equivalent.
Experience & Skills: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in cooking or food preparation.
Language: English
Hourly Rate: $17.00 per Hour for 30 to 40 Hours per week
Starting Date: As soon as possible
Terms of Employment: Fulltime and permanent
Benefits: 4% Vacation Pay
