Key Duties and Responsibilities
Prepare and cook complete meals and individual dishes from the Fo'c'sle Village Pub menu,
including seafood, steaks, burgers, pasta, soups, salads and daily specials.
Set up and stock the cooking station, portion ingredients and follow house recipes so dishes are
prepared consistently for each service.
Use the grill, fryer, oven and stovetop to cook menu items, and monitor cooking times,
temperatures, food quality and presentation.
Estimate food and ingredient requirements for scheduled service, portion food properly and help
control kitchen waste.
Monitor food, kitchen supplies and equipment on hand, keep basic inventory records and advise
when items need to be reordered.
Receive, label, rotate and store ingredients and supplies following the kitchen's food safety and
storage procedures.
Keep cooking equipment, preparation surfaces and kitchen work areas clean and organized
throughout the shift.
Requirements
• Education: Secondary high school graduation certificate
• Experience: 2 to 3 years of commercial cooking experience
• Language: English
• Area of Specialization: Pub and full-service restaurant cooking
• Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment; standing for extended
periods; work under pressure; repetitive tasks; attention to detail
