Job Requirements
Languages: English
Education: completion of High School or equivalent experience.
Experience: 3 year to less than 5 years of experience
Work setting: Bake shop
Work conditions and physical capabilities: Ability to distinguish between colours, Attention to detail, Hand-eye co-ordination, Handling heavy loads, Physically demanding, Standing for extended periods, Work under pressure
Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)

Duties and Responsibilities
· Prepare dough for pies, bread, rolls and sweet goods, batters for muffins, cookies and cakes and icings and frostings according to recipes or special customer orders.
· Prepare special orders, and catering orders when necessary.
· Prepare food items for customers with food allergies or intolerances.
· Bake mixed dough and batters.
· Frost and decorate cakes and baked goods.
· Operate machinery.
· Organize and maintain inventory.
· Requisition or order materials, equipment and supplies.
· Oversee sales and merchandising of baked goods.
· Schedule staff.
· Train staff in preparation, and handling of food
· Supervise junior baking personnel and kitchen staff
· Have knowledge on food specialties such as breads and rolls, desserts and pastries, wedding/birthday/specialty cakes, donuts and muffins, cake decorating.
· Ensure that the quality of products meets established standards
· Inspect kitchen and food service areas and ensure cleanliness is maintained at all the time.
· Ensure the safety and sanitary guidelines and regulations are followed and train staff in safe food handling requirements.
· Any other duties as assigned.
