Salary: $60000 per annum (This salary is inclusive of holiday pay and/or any overtime hours worked by the Employee.)
Terms of employment: Permanent employment, Full time: 30 hours per Week
Employment conditions: Candidate must be flexible to work any assigned shift as the work demands including morning, day, Evening, Weekends, holidays.
Start date: Starts as soon as possible
Languages: English
Education: College or Diploma/ Certification in a Culinary discipline
Experience: 5 years or more experience in a Culinary Supervisory capacity
Credentials: Safe Food Handling certificate (can be obtained and provide within 3 weeks of commencing employment)
Job requirements and Responsibilities:
· Estimate labour costs and amount & costs of supplies and food items
· Maintain records of food costs, consumption, sales and inventory
· Analyze operating costs and other data
· Create new recipes and demonstrate new cooking techniques and new equipment to cooking staff
· Supervise activities of specialist chefs, chefs, cooks, other kitchen workers as well as sous-chefs, specialist chefs, chefs and cooks
· Instruct and train staff in preparation, cooking, garnishing and presentation of food
· Prepare and cook complete meals and specialty foods for events such as banquets and for special guests or functions
· Requisition food and kitchen supplies
· Arrange for equipment purchases and repairs
· Consult with clients regarding weddings, banquets and specialty functions
· Plan and direct food preparation and cooking activities
· Plan menus and ensure food meets quality standards
· Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances
· Recruit and hire staff
· Perform any other duties
